Dentists
I know I'm not on the ball here, but I believe they want kids connected with a dentist when K starts.
I called around a bunch that are covered by my insurance and they have at least a month + wait.
Also am told they're not real "pediatric dentists", but family practices....
Any advice?
I'm on a few "cancellation" lists.
Do you pay out of pocket? DS doctor said she highly advises going to a pediatric dentist....what's the going rate if you pay OOP?

Did you try Broadway Smile in Massapequa? They are a true ped dentist. They only see kids.
They take my insurance but I know they don't take a bunch so I'd call them if you haven't. They are great and make it fun for the kids.

also melville kids dentistry. My DD has been going there for about a year they r great it was the only one that took my insurance.

We go to Pediatric Dentist of Suffolk in their Commack office.
They are not in-network for my dental plan. But for routine visits and checkups, out-of-network is covered 100%. So for now, as long as my kids don't need major dental work, they are ok.
Does your plan offer out-of-network benefits? Or is it that any of the ped dentists you looked into don't accept your insurance?
FYI, no pediatric dentists were in-network for my plan.

Try Kiddsmiles in Holbrook (they have other locations too). That's where I took DD and I like them so far.

Tks I'm going to call them next. SIL recommended them.
She also said if I mention I'm a NSLIJ employee they may work with my insurance.

i also went to kiddsmiles but a different location as has a few friends of mine everyone i know loves it there
i know they took my insurance we did have to pay a copay and for the flouride

when i had horrible insurance they worked with me and i still got some money back. they are great! DS is a nightmare there and they are incredibly patient with him.
