Plastic, the brand is Bemis.
It is a soft close seat.

We had plastic untill DH cracked it last week. Now its wood. Why do you ask? Is one better than the other?

I've had almost every type. Right now, we have one wooden one, and two plastic soft-close. The soft-close is definitely worth it, especially with two DC.  You don't get that SLAM!! at 3am when they just drop the seat down.

Weird Question Toliet Seat
Plastic. Wooden ones actually scare me because when I was a child my parents always used to tell me I'd get splinters in my bottom if I sat on one. I know now that's unlikely but old habits die hard!
