Tax exemptions
Is it normal that after applying last year for a veteran's exemption, we still don't have that part deducted from our taxes? We were told they update the system every 6 months and we should get a partial deduction in june of 2015...they also won't make it go retro to when we filed, so we'll continue to overpay while we wait for them to update their records.
this doesn't make any sense to us...but we could see why the county would be happy to keep making more money for longer than they should....
any advice from BTDT or realtors or other knowledgeable sources?

Re: Tax exemptions
We filed on February 19th. They list veteran on our taxes, but with no deduction amount next to it. They said it is approved and they're waiting for the system update - once every 6 months. :/

Re: Tax exemptions
Not vets here but I'm wondering if it would be worthwhile to contact one of your local politicians and get them involved?
I'm sure you are not the only ones....
