fragile x syndrome
So DS is presenting with a lot of different things that we just can't put a finger on. The ped. Mentioned fragile x syndrome in passing, and while I feel if he does have it, it would be a milder form (many with fragile x are severely intellectually disabled) he seems to match so many of the symptoms. It can present like autism, but he does not meet the typical classic autism markers like echolalia, insistence on sameness, etc. He does however show some of the physical traits of fragile x (low tone, flat feet, broad forehead) and language delays, difficulties socially, attentipn deficit and hyperactivity, temper tantrums and aggression.
Does anyone have experience with this? And also can anyone recommend a good geneticist to use for testing??

Dr Tegay 516-686-3897
NYIT, Old Westbury
He takes insurance. I thought he was excellent. Had my DD tested a few years ago, she was negative.

fragile x syndrome
Dr. Moris Angulo at Winthrop is great for testing. We had it done to rule out Fragile X.
