Anyone travel during their 28th week?
DH (at the last minute of course!) finally agreed to go someone before our second LO arrives in May. February is kind of busy so we were looking at the first week in March. that beings me to 28 weeks. Does anyone know the cutoff for air travel while pregnant? Any tips/advice? Should we just skip it? Obviously I will ask my Ob next Friday at my appt but wanted to get some opinions on here. Thanks!!

Air travel is totally fine then. It is too late to cruise then, but flying is fine well into your pregnancy.

I would fly. Just make sure to get an aisle seat so you can get up and walk around every hour. Drink lots of water to stay hydrated. I also wouldn't take a long flight, but Caribbean would totally work. Have fun!

Flying is fine, but no cruises. They won't let you on.

Depends on the airline. 28 weeks is fine. Some have restrictions on 37+ weeks. I flew at 31 weeks, I was fine albeit uncomfortable. Drink lots of water and try to stretch your legs often.

Re: Anyone travel during their 28th week?
Flying at 28 weeks is fine. I just flew internationally for work at 20 weeks so it was a looong flight. I just drank a ton of water and got up to walk (or pee!) about once an hour. I had my OB write a letter that I carried saying that I was healthy to travel and what my due date is, but I didn't need it. Many airlines recommend having it, though, to be safe.

I flew at 27/28 a weeks and did fine. you just have to make sure you get up every hour to walk up and down the aisle. I had to pee every hour anyway, so I just picked the bathroom furthest away

It will depend on you, your pregnancy and your doctor. I can't risk going into labor, I have to have a c-section because my uterus is compromised and could split in labor, so my OB said I shouldn't fly in my 3rd Trimester, otherwise I'd be on my way home from Florida right now. I know others who couldn't fly in the 3rd either, for other reasons.

Re: Anyone travel during their 28th week?
I just flew at 27 weeks. It was fine.
Could be coincidence but now I started swelling the day I got back so my legs are really uncomfortable.
You should be fine then as long as overall you are having a smooth pregnancy. I wouldn't take too long of a trip, just for comfort and fly direct as schlepping through an airport with luggage, etc just not so fun.
My flights were 4.5 - 5 hours so all good.
I did a red eye my first pregnancy at 12 weeks was horrific so I didn't even attempt that.
Also, you can't go through the X-ray but regular metal detectors are fine. Just ask for pat down.

Re: Anyone travel during their 28th week?
My ob says the recommended cut off for flying is 34 weeks. Cruise is 24 weeks by end of cruise.

I wouldn't fly at 28 weeks. My DS came naturally and quickly at 28 weeks. I flew at about 20 weeks but that was nerve wracking for me. Everyone is different and only you know what your comfort level is.

I think you should be OK to fly. I flew at 25 weeks with DS and everything was fine.

Anyone travel during their 28th week?
This thread is making me feel so much better. My DH and i were just trying to plan one last getaway before the baby and it's looking like it might be week 27 or 28 so im glad most have had a good experience with it. I'll be checking with my doc next week just in case anyway
