I usually have a toddler hanging from my leg and my 6 year old DD asking me a thousand questions every five seconds. It's SO relaxing!! 
That's how we roll too lol.
Sometimes I hide in there and use FB or LIF on my phone.

While you are making dinner, do you...
I'm usually cleaning up from one side, and watching DD or feeding her. I try to cook and be done in like 20 mins or so.. one pot meals, or if there's stuff going in the oven, its literally dump contents from ziplock into pyrex and stick in oven. I used to do elaborate cooking, and I love to cook but with DH's schedule, cooking has taken a hit.

Before DS I would watch Netflix (usually West Wing), now I have music going, and I think I wrote this in the "today's question" post, I dance and sing to DS while cooking... it's so much fun!

It's usually one of the following lately:
- Lose myself in my thoughts and think about random things
- Pretend I'm on a cooking show (I usually will do this on the weekend when I make something that takes longer than weekday cooking)
- My husband, dog and son will join me in the kitchen and we'll just waste time.
