I usually have music playing and just kind of zone out. I find cooking and music to be therapeutic on their own...having both together is really one of my favorite things.

Sometimes I'll sing along too and DH will come I and dance with me a little.

I would love to do any of the above. In reality, while making dinner I'm usually having ridiculous conversations with my 2 year old. Today she wanted to know why, even if she does exactly what Mickey says, is she still not in the tv.

Depends on the mood and kind of day I had. Some days while boys are playing nicely in the basement I listen to my Broadway station on Spotify and drink wine.
Other days I'm throwing something together and going back and forth between kitchen and den making sure they're not fighting or destroying the house.

Sometimes I put on music. Other times I just enjoy my alone time in the kitchen while DD is playing.

I usually have a toddler hanging from my leg and my 6 year old DD asking me a thousand questions every five seconds. It's SO relaxing!!

But seriously, before kids and when I cook at night when they are asleep, I like to either listen to music, talk to DH, or just enjoy the silence. I LOVE to cook, I find it so relaxing and therapeuti,c so I like to keep it "chill" in the kitchen while I am cooking.

I enjoy cooking. When I am alone, I like to relax, maybe drink some wine. I do admit that sometimes I will pretend I'm the host of a cooking show!

A lot of times during the week, I am rushing or multitasking (helping DS with homework, etc.) or DS (who's 6) like to "help" me, which can be a fun activity for us to do together, but definitely takes away from the relaxation factor. I prefer baking with him because there's less stress (no hot pots on the stove, usually no chopping) and more "jobs" for him to do (cracking eggs, stirring, etc.).

The cat keeps me company sometimes, she likes to climb up my kitchen stool and sit in the window.
I prefer to be alone in the kitchen, maybe because it is small.

There's no tv in our kitchen.

Usually I am back and forth on the internet. If DD wants to help me cook that day, then I am focusing on that because it takes double the time lol

It depends on what I'm making.

During the week, if I'm making a routine dinner, I usually watch a show on Netflix (on my iPad) while I cook/do the dishes.

If I'm trying a new recipe or cooking over the weekend, I put on music, drink wine and talk with DH.

-prep lunches for the next day
-wash dishes
-wash bottles
-keep toddler from harming dog
-keep toddler from harming self
-keep toddler from harming baby
-keep toddler from pulling my pants down

Talk to dh about the item cooking
Prep for the next steps in advance or prep for the next meal
Avoid stepping on little dog in picture who always wants something to eat (he usually gets veggies)

It really depends on what I am making and how much attention it needs. I might go watch TV or read a book, or I may start to prepare something for later in the week.

If DH is home when I'm cooking on a weeknight we cook together and talk about our day.
When I'm alone I either listen to pandora or "watch" more like listen to hgtv or something else mindless on my iPad. I put it on my windowsill over my sink so it's out of the way but I can see it from everywhere in the kitchen.
Lately since DH hasn't been eating meat I'm often using the iPad for a recipe.
I watch tv on the iPad while I clean usually as well
