Why go for hcg test?
So I'm on progesterone after I ovulate but we are still trying naturally. AF was due today but obviously didn't come due to progesterone I've take urine pregnancy test which is negative why does the RE make me come in the day after AF is due to get tested to then stop progesterone? I guess my question Is If urine test is negative why do I need blood test as well? Am I missing something?

Why go for hcg test?
It's protocol. Also, your levels could be low and not picked up in urine yet, but could be picked up in blood. A blod test is more sensitive. Either way it's protocal.

Yes, especially since you are on progesterone. Your RE needs to confirm if you should be taken off of it. You also could have ovulated later than normal this month, and even though your urine test is negative, your blood test could be positive.

Why go for hcg test?
I'm in the same boat. I have to go in for beta tom even though I know I'm out and then wait to get my period. I wish I could have just stopped the progesterone on my own to get my period and move on already. This just drags it out. But I guess there's always that slight chance for some girls.

Yea I went today it just confirmed what I already knew hoping it doesn't delay my period too long because as it is I already have a longer cycle. Just ready to start the next month

One of my friends was about to start an IVF cycle. She found out she was already pregnant when they did the HCG. You just never know.
