1st grader who loves science?
My daughter loves science & wants science stuff for her birthday.
She already has a microscope & telescope.
Any kits that might be geared towards young kids?

1st grader who loves science?
my son is in K but he got the magic school bus science kit - it comes with a bunch of supplies - he loves to make things with it
we also have dads guide to science experiments - that is a book

1st grader who loves science?
My 3rd grade daughter is a science kid. I definitely recommend the Magic School Bus science kits. They are usually cheaper if you buy through Educents.
I also recommend "encyclopedia" type books. Smithsonian Knowledge Encyclopedia is great, as are the National Geographic books on Animals. My daughter also LOVES the Peterson field guides. They have them on hundreds of different topics and my daughter pores over them.

Go to Michaels.. in their kid section you'll find little experiments and stuff. Smithsonian stuff. AJ loves it. There's also a kit she got that comes to our door. Darn if I can remember it.. we only got the first kit for xmas two years ago.. its a story and as you read it you make a planet, a rocket and a jet pack. It gives you all the supplies and instructions. Fun stuff. I'll have to look for it.
PS: I know you have probably already done this but AJ LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED The Museum and Rose Center Planetarium when we went to visit 2 weeks ago. She was over the moon.

Do you have a mad science class near you? My kids love their classes.
AC Moore and michaels have a few inexpensive kits you can buy.

I'm in NC, we go to various science & nature centers. My next step is to research classes. She loves anything hands on learning.

Did you buy 1 kit, or the subscription? I saw a LivingSocial deal for $120 for 12 months.

he just got one kit but i may look into the subscription because i have 2 more boys that love science right behind him
the one we have is from amazon
