Does today's snow day affect anyone's vacation plans?
We don't have any plans for Spring Break, but I know it's usually a popular time for week-long vacations. Are your DC going to wind up missing school because you've planned a vacation during what was supposed to be a full week, but is now not?

Mine! We lost the last Friday of our spring break today...I'm a teacher so my kids and I both won't be there!

Does today's snow day affect anyone's vacation plans?
Yes we lost the long Memorial Day weekend. My niece is getting married OOS that weekend. I would have rather they took away the random day we have off this month and the extra Monday trailing spring break. But no matter what they choose someone will be effected.

It happens and they can't work around everyone and their plans. If you live in NY or the states that get snow in the winter, you expect kids will have get days off and have to make them up.

Actually, being that we DO live in the Northeast, the districts need to start building more snow days into their calendars. I grew up in MI, and it snowed all the time in the winter. We never had to make up days since the days were built in ;)
Our district is not taking any days away. They are shifting a teacher conference day to a superintendent conference day, so that counts toward our 180 days of instruction.
IF they did take away a day of break, I certainly would not cancel my plans because of it.

We just lost a day from spring break. Oh well, I guess my kids are missing a day of school.
