Crossfit Question
Long story short I was a workout fiend for years. Trainer 3 days a week, boot camp 3 days a week and usually a gym day on the 7th. 2 years ago was promoted into a very stressful job with tons of traveling and typically working 14+ hours a day. Stopped working out due to being unable to figure out how to fit into my schedule and then being lazy on the rare days I wasn't in the office. Gained a good 25lbs. Was miserable with my work situation and more miserable when I looked in the mirror. That coupled with no longer watching what I was eating resulted in a lot of weight gain.
I finally decided the work environment was no longer sustainable and found a new job that I love and am back to working more "normal" hours. I need to start working out as I feel like my weight is the last thing I need to get back in order to feel good about myself again. I have no excuses now as to why I can't get back in shape. I have changed my diet but for me if I am not working out the weight doesn't come off as quickly as I would like. I am very interested in joining cross fit as I enjoy a structured "class" where I am being held accountable while I am there. Seeing as I am completely out of shape right now, is my thinking that I can even participate in cross fit out of the realm? I will say I am very dedicated and work very hard in the gym. I just don't want to embarrass myself in the class if I don't belong there.
Sorry for the long post and thanks for reading!

Re: Crossfit Question
Everything is scaled at Crossfit, and they usually have u do foundations/intro classes for the first month anyway.
Which box are u looking to join? I loved it. Can't wait to go back when I'm feeling better.

Re: Crossfit Question
Thank you! That makes me feel better! Looked at both Crossfit strong island (merrick) and Crossfit light house (bellmore). leaning towards bellmore because the times seem to work better. Thank you again!
ETA: hope you feel better soon!

Crossfit Question
Crossfit is all about community. You won't be embarassed. You'll be cheered on, you'll make new friends, you will accomplish your goals. It has been life changing for me.

Crossfit Question
Very nice. Good luck. You will be sore everyday. You will be sore in places you think couldn't be sore. Push through. Don't give up. Enjoy it!

Thank you!! I joined last week and have been 5 times. Completed foundations and did 2 workouts. I LOVE it. Everyone was SO nice and helpful and encouraging. It is exactly what I was looking for!
Thank you to everyone who answered on this thread because I don't think I would have joined without the encouragement!!
