Re: Feeling overwhelmed / having a hard time
I put my DS in the regular seat of the Cruz reclined with an infant insert. He was very comfortable in there. He was in there for walks always from 2 weeks old. I had the Chicco Keyfit and used the adapter. The stroller folds easily with the adapter on so need to take on and off. I really don't think the bassinet is a necessity. It's not worth the extra money in my opinion.
I love love the Cruz. DS is 9 months now and I can't see having to buy an umbrella stroller. It's not cheap, but it's the one baby purchase we did splurge on. I didn't have a shower and we mostly bought our items. You can buy the previous year Cruz at some on-line stores for a discounted price I've seen.

Re: Feeling overwhelmed / having a hard time
1. cord blood banking... it doesn't run in our family for children, so we are not doing private banking. I am considering donating it. My ob's office charges a collection fee for a couple hundred. I asked my doctor about the pulsing thing vs cord blood, and he said he doesn't do anything different.
2. Our second kid we received a gift of a city mini... It was under $200 for a clearance previous year color and it has been great as a stroller.
3. Newborn photos. There is a company that takes them in the hospital. They put gloves on and all to be safe. I had brought a couple of accessories and we bought the pictures that way. spent around $100 on prints. They show them to you right there then mail them.
