Feeling less ready the 2nd time around
It hit me hard last night when I saw on my pregnancy calendar ( which I only remember to check every few weeks or so!) that I only have 7 weeks left until my anticipated C section
I remember last time feeling much more secure with DD on the way- nursery was done, we went to classes, read pg books etc
This time around I feel more nervous and unprepared for what's to come even though I've done it already- Is that even making sense???
BTDT moms- Is this normal? I am just so consumed in daily life - work, house, DD etc that I am totally forgetting to get ready for

Re: Feeling less ready the 2nd time around
I have 6 weeks left to my schedule c-sec date and I have the same feeling. I'm so worried about dd adjusting to the new baby I spend every waking moment with her. I've gotten some things ready like purchased a new dresser put away baby clothes but other than that I have no idea what else to do. Obviously I know I'm pg but it sort of all feels like a surprise lol.

I feel the same. I still have tons to do but it's much harder this time around with DS#1 needing me so much, working, etc.

Re: Feeling less ready the 2nd time around
I think it's more than ignorance really is BLISS when it comes to a baby You know what you're in for and that makes the anticipation a bit harder to bare.
That said - you KNOW what you're in for, you KNOW you can do it, you KNOW that a baby needs nothing more than you, some food and a place to sleep (regardless of whether it's newly painted or has perfectly matching furniture). The rest will come - do what you can and whatever doesn't get done now, will get done later

Same here! 23 days to go and the baby's room is empty. When I say empty, I mean EMPTY. Furniture is supposedly being delivered this weekend. I do have it in the back of my mind to pack my hospital bag, but even that seems to always be put off until later. I have 4 more teaching days and after that I plan on really ramping up and getting ready. Hope doesn't decide to show up before then
