Can't seem to get into a good routine going
I know I kee posting about nausea, but that's my life right now. I Wake up feeling like I got ran over by a truck. So I chug a glass of Orange juice and eat some animal crackers. I start to feel better. Then I hit up a bagel place for breakfast, which totally helps. But then like 2-3 hours later, I am STARVING. Like, I could eat my arm off. I've been packing snacks, fruit and drinking plenty of water. But that only holds me off for a short time before I am starving again. And then once I eat, I feel so sick. I can't find a balance. And if I keep eating like this, I'm gonna gain 100 pounds!
What is your food schedule like? What do you eat throughout the day? How often?

I never had a food schedule, and don't go crazy about times, you're pregnant! Just eat when hungry. Increase your protein. Fruit is great but it's all sugars. Have some nuts.

Can't seem to get into a good routine going
I've found there's no routine when dealing with pregnancy. Some days I'm hungry. Some days I'm not. Sometimes I'll be starving like I haven't eaten in days and then I take a few bites and I'm done. Yesterday we were at the ranger game and I was hungry when we were leaving but had to catch our train. We got home 90 mins later, ordered dinner and I didnt eat a thing. I suddenly wasn't hungry anymore. I didn't eat again til breakfast this morning.
You just have to take each day as it comes and be prepared either way. I don't even have MS and I'm almost 18w.

I guess when I said "schedule" I mean just what do you do, personally? I know every person is different. I just don't remember feeling this way with my first.

It's still early for you, no? Give your hormones some time to regulate.

This is me exactly! I'm constantly eating because it helps with my nausea but then I feel sick afterwards. Ugh

Yes! Just 6 weeks along. It's insane bc I wasn't sick with my first until about 7 weeks. With this one, I've been on and off sick from a week before I even got a positive on a test.

Re: Can't seem to get into a good routine going
I was insanely starving both times. I still eat breakfast and usually a second breakfast.
I would add protein if possible. Cheese stick is easy to Carry etc.
If you are hungry eat. With my daughter I was eating a normal breakfast like fruit and English muffin then 2 hours later a bagel. I figured I'm going to be a blimp but really gained less than 5 lbs my first trimester. I think my metabolism sped up.
So just saying don't stress everyone different. Eat what you can to stay healthy and balanced. More, small meals better for you anyway.

All pregnancies are different. With DD, I was nauseous starting around 6 weeks. MS started around 8 weeks. I had literally no appetite. I'd eat a yogurt and half a sandwich a day and that was it. Some days even less. MS finally ended at 14w.
This time around, I get waves of nausea but only got sick once or twice. I have more of an appetite too.

I found that I had zero control that early on. I was eating like you describe and having a total carb fest. I tried doing smoothies with PB and chobani to give me some protein to hold me over a little longer. I put on a ton of weight during the first trimester this pregnancy. I have tapered off big time in the second. Hang in there

Can't seem to get into a good routine going
With my DD I wasn't hungry all the time, but ate incredibly healthy. This pregnancy I feel hungry all the time. During my first trimester I had MS so eating actually made me feel better and help subside it. My diet has been really bad though...crave salty foods so I've dealt with edema. I'm now trying to limit my sodium but eating on a schedule goes out the window. I eat if I'm hungry.

Can't seem to get into a good routine going
i would highly suggest not downing a glass of oj first thing in the morning its just like drinking a glass of sugar. start with protein like an egg sandwich or something of the sort and have your oj with the protein. i found whenever i didnt not start my day with protein it was a heavy eating day, see if this works for you.

I was going to say the same about the OJ. It's very acidic and sugary. I try to stick to water all the time and feel much better. If I need a kick of juice, I try a half a glass of something that's not acidic, like apple juice.
I'd also suggest small meals every few hours. Having large servings will not help your nausea.

Re: Can't seem to get into a good routine going
I lived off carbs the first trimester. It was the only way I could get through work. Even then I threw up a few times. I ate constantly, but never a lot at a time or I got sick. I kept saltine crackers at work.
I gained only a few lbs in my first trimester. Less then you are supposed to gain. If you are throwing up I don't think you have to worry to much about weight gain.

I am only drinking the OJ in the morning because I almost fainted last week from low blood sugar in the morning. So, I need something with the sugar to bring my blood sugar up in the morning before I pass out. Then I make an egg or something before I leave the house.
