Heartburn anyone?!
So when I was pregnant with my son I had bad heartburn that started at about 16 weeks and lasted the rest of the pregnancy. My doctor told me around my 28 week appt that i could've been taking pepcid ac for the heartburn plus tums. Well this was a lifesaver!!! It worked wonders!!
Fast forward to this prwgnancy. It took a little longer to start but by 20 weeks the horrible heartburn started again! I'm now 23 weeks and sleep almost sitting up with pillows and the pepcid ac just isn't working this time!
Is there anything else to help with the horrible heartburn that I have every night?!

Heartburn anyone?!
My doctor said I could take nexium, so far it has worked great. The tums were just not cutting it anymore for me.

Re: Heartburn anyone?!
I've heard that almonds help a lot. Don't have any personal experience - but worth trying I'd think!

Heartburn anyone?!
My dr wouldn't let me take anything but pepcid and tums, but I could take both. At the end to wasn't cutting it and contributed to my cough. I was getting heartburn from everything, so I just had to deal. Milk helped a bit and chamomile tea.

Re: Heartburn anyone?!
With my first, I had heart burn from day 1 all the way through my labor. i was drinking mylanta straight from the bottle. Eventually that didn't cut it and I lived on Pepcid. This time, at just 6 weeks, it hasn't hit me super hard yet. I've had a few episodes and just took some tums and it worked. If it gets worse, dr told me to take Pepcid again.

Re: Heartburn anyone?!
Tums and diet (no things that make it worse: tomato sauce, coffee, etc).

I have it so bad too. Tuns don't work at all for me. My dr told me to take Pepcid ac which helps some but the only thing that works is making sure not to eat any food that irritate the heartburn. I hope you feel better!

Heartburn anyone?!
I've had horrible heartburn since about 21 weeks -- I'm now 36 weeks. Wish I could say its gotten better, but its gotten worse as baby has gotten bigger. I take Tums when it gets bad, but not the hard tablets. The only thing that works (and seems to work pretty quickly) are the Tums Chewables -- they're almost like individually wrapped Starburst candies. They have them in Cherry and Orange. I've found them at both Walgreens and Target.
