Anyone take the antibiotic called Nitrofurantoin while pregnant?
Just found out i have a uti and was just prescribed this...

do you have concerns that it's not safe? I had a uti recently and I was prescribed macrobid because I have a lot of antibiotic allergies so they had to find one to treat it without giving me a reaction and be safe, etc.
When I got it and read the packaging there was a warning about not taking it when pregnant but my dr confirmed it was safe.

Yes, once each pregnancy for a uti.

It's perfectly fine; it's the generic for Macrobid

Good i feel a lot better! Can't stand taking medication when i am pregnant but in this case, i have no choice.

I just got over a UTI and they gave me Ampicillin.

My OB has prescribed different ones for me (macrobid was one). I figured he knows I'm pregnant so its safe. I took a probiotic with it like I always do.
