Struggling

How do you get past the struggle? I started "dieting" on 12/27. I've lost 36 lbs. I am struggling so much the last two weeks. I want to keep going but suddenly I'm having a much harder time saying "no" to food.

Re: Struggling

First CONGRATULATIONS!!! That is a great accomplishment!

I dont have a lot of advice except in my experience the more I "struggle" or am hard on myself/beat myself up the harder it is to maintain my lifestyle. I let myself enjoy treats. I cheat I let myseld get lazy and get rest! When I just let go and go with the flow and keep trying, make healthy choices its much more sustainable to do in the long run!

I think the struggle is normal when you get to a certain point. I'm sort of there now too. I started my program 2/16 and as of today I am down 17lbs and only have 6 to go. I think its normal for us to think hey a cupcake or whatever won;t hurt. I just keep telling myself "keep the eye on the prize" I am so close to being back at my "fighting weight" and I just keep saying that its not worth it. I also have made complete lifestyle changes as to how and what I eat. I just don't look at food the same way. I think its either a total life change with food or we are destined to go back to where we came from.

Like Allison said its the relationship you have with food can make the difference. It takes time and a mind set to change it. For me (most of the time) food is fuel if I want to work out to feel & look good I need to eat the right stuff. Occasionally I eat non healthy stuff but get back on the horse so to speak. Its a balance & you just have to find yours. Keep up tje good work! DONT GIVE UP.
