Help me figure out what color cabinets
We have a contractor making custom cabinets for our kitchen. I know I want white. Do we pick a color to go over the white wood? How does this work?

If you want white cabinets, aren't you done picking out the cabinet color? I'm not sure what you're asking. Do you want solid white, or a whitewash, where you can still see some of the woodgrain?

Are you referring to like a glaze over the white?

If the cabinets are custom they'll come in an unfinished natural wood color and they will paint them white for you. You have to choose the white you want. Just look at the regular paint swatches you find from Benjamin Moore or any other brand paint you like. Something to consider if you're doing white is the color of your counter tops and sink. If you are going with a white farm sink or mostly white counter tops this may influence the white you paint your cabinets because they all need to coordinate.
