It wouldn't annoy me. I have a 7 weeks old baby and a 2 yr old and when my baby was 3 weeks old DH uncle passed away and he had to go to ohio for 3 days, I also had a c-section. I think u will have help cause the nanny will be there 3 days. Maybe u can pay her extra to come by for a few hrs on the days she is off just to get a break.
This is a TOTALLY different situation -- death of a family member, 3 days away in the USA vs. bachelor party, 5 days away in another country........
I see it differently because she has help. There is a nanny there 3 of the 5 days. If I was all alone for 5 days then I would not want DH going on a trip like that. I was alone for 3 days with a 2 yr old and newborn and it was not too bad, difference of opinion I guess...
I don't see it as a huge deal. She will have help for most of the time. Chances are there will be times when you will need to take care of 2 kids on your own so I see as it as a well its bound to happen sometime so why not.
You might need to go somewhere and leave DH with the kids at some point.

I would not be pissed at my DH especially since the nanny will be with you for 3 out of the 5 days. But my husband works nights and has a lot of overtime so it is not unusual for me to have my son (and will have a newborn also in September) to take care of alone with out my husband

I would be. I had baby blues for the first 6 weeks and was constantly crying. Breastfeeding while having another child to take care of is hard. I agree with the other posters. 3 days-fine, but not 5. I would never (and DH wouldn't either) leave our 4 week old (and other child) that many days unless it was an emergency.

I would be very annoyed and I think DH would know better than to book a trip like that. As married adults with kids, we don't take those kind of trips anymore, let alone with a toddler and newborn in the house. The fact that it's his nephew doesn't change things for me.

Honestly, yes. My DH wouldn't even consider leaving me with 2 kids, one being a newborn, even if I had help. I am just being honest, so don't get mad, he would never, ever do it.
ETA: Wanted to clarify, it is the newborn and the C-section issue. I am not saying he would never take a trip without me.

I dont think I would be annoyed. When I had my second kid my hubby was back to work after the first week. I had the newborn durring the day and the overnight shift every night and had my toddler home from daycare 3 days of the work week ... solo, all with no nanny helping and was fine week 2 to 6.

If I had help, no, I wouldn't be annoyed. 5 days is a little much, but you will have help and that gives you major points when it comes time for you to take a trip!
