Dr. T patients- that have EMPIRE (teachers) have ?

I officially started my meds last night with DR. T- I wanted to know as far as insurance coverage goes:

Do you pay $40 copay each visit? ($20 blood, $20 ultrasound)

The monitoring does NOT count towards our lifetime max for IVF- is this correct? His financial person was confusing me by saying it could be. The only cost that is taken out of the max money is for the actual procedures. Is this correct?

I am only doing a retrieval this time (doing a few cycles to bank- try to get a few decent eggs before a frozen transfer)

anyone have an estimate as to how much it cost for retrieval through DR. T after it goes through Empire?

Last two doctors were center of excellence so I was fortunate not to pay any co-pays and only $ taken out for max was for actual procedures. Unfortunately I did not get pregnant.

I just want to know what I'm dealing with in advance since my max money is almost gone. I feel like I get better answers here than from their own coordinator!

TIA!!!

I have Empire, but my insurance is through suffolk county -- so coverage is different. The best thing to do is call your plan directly. I have had several doctors tell me what my coverage is according to their call to the insurance carrier and it is always wrong. It is up to you to be your best advocate.

I am on empire through DH who is a teacher. Yes, typical visits are a double copay. It was about $5k that went towards the $50k limit for retrieval. Anesthesia was $20. I did 2 retrievals but never got anything to put back.

Thanks for info- I am doing a few cycles 2-3 of retrievals to bank embryos- I wanted to see about an estimate on a retrieval cost. Thank you!
