I applied for a job that I found on Careerbuilder and, after following up several times, I finally got the recruiter to pay attention, she told me to send some additional information and I sent it to her right away. She confirmed she sent my resume.

I followed up with her a week later, she said she hadn't heard back from them and she'd follow up. No further response and I haven't emailed her further.

I notice that the position is posted on Monster now, but it appears to be a direct posting from the company.

Is it bad form to submit my resume through Monster? Should I follow up again with the flaky recruiter?

Also, while researching the company, I noticed that one of my son's classmates' mother works there, but I don't know her personally. However, the the position is more than likely in her unit. Any suggestions on how to approach this with her or is it absolutely totally tacky (which is where I'm leaning)?

Sorry for the rambling. :)

Many recruiters nowadays dont follow up or dont get back to you. I recently met a recruiter who pitched my references for business , not even discussing my qualities or prior experience! Def submit thru monster and approach the mother - be direct. Nowadays, it is best to be direct and ask . You have nothing to lose. Good Luck!!
