Where do you get your name ideas from?

Ugh, we are having a hard time coming up with a name for DD2. DD1's name we had set from well before we got married and we never had to think about names with her. DD1's name is Brianna Marie. I'm open to suggestions too!

My SIL gave me her baby name book. DH and I could not agree on any names for DD, so I went through the book and highlighted the ones I liked, let him do the same and we had a winner!!
We knew that if we had a boy he would be named after my late FIL.

Everywhere. Movies, books, name websites, Facebook friends list, groups.

We decided on a boys name when I was pregnant with Hailey. But we're having another girl so we were stumped for a little while lol. we finally decided on a name. Shaun loved it so we decided that was it because he's a PITA about it.

Yup, same problem here. I have a girl's name completely set - I was hoping I was pregnant with a girl because then it would be sooo easy! lol. Ends up it's a boy. We've been going back and forth like crazy over what to name him. I don't like names that are used to death, but I also don't like them to be totally out there either. So it's hard. I just listen a lot to names I hear all over the place - TV, movies, books, at the library where children have their names on the summer reading list on the wall (lol). Anywhere I see names, I pay attention to see if one hits me. I know the perfect one is out there somewhere!!!

I'm due in 11 days and I'm still struggling. I always thought picking a name would be fun. It's so not. I don't remember it being this difficult with DD1.

Our tradition is to name the kids after the grandparents

I've always liked the name. Probably being a fan of Sex and the City over the years helped inspire it. My husband liked it because it was the female version of his dad's name.

We got Lara from the movie Dr Zhivago. It was one of my moms favorite movies.

Our son is Aidan. I just love it!! I know its super popular. But when i was growing up I was always among a ton of Jennifers in my class and I never cared lol

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions/advice! We will definitely keep looking. I just feel like I'm having a hard time because I love DD1s name so much and it's not super popular, but not out there either and I'd love something similar for this one. Thankfully we have until November, but it's coming so quickly!

Try top 500 names for girls/boys.
I have my "runner up" name from there.

I had no clue what to pick for a girls name either. I looked at the social security list of top 1000 names. I chose my dd's name because I felt like it was pretty but not overly used.
