Re: How is dismissal done in your school
It's a hot mess at my school. The parents pick the kids up from the school yard. The teachers stand with the class and have the parents sign a sheet. I like to write down who picks up/drops off each child or whether they take the bus or have after school programs. Of course, parents are picking up bus kids and kids are claiming they go to after school when it hasn't even started yet

They call pick up at after school first and those kids walk to the cafeteria. (K and 1 get walked down by a para). Then they call bussing by grade and which of the 2 doors they go out of so for us it goes K and 5th then 1 and 3rd and last 2nd and 4th. The teachers walk the kids down the bus platform. However it gets nuts because who parents are picking up but the kid is on the bus everyday there is some sort of issue.

Re: How is dismissal done in your school
We call walkers and mini buses first at 3:10. Walkers are signed out in the cafeteria and mini buses are staged there also. The buses are called 6 at a time. All kids walk themselves out to the buses (k is escorted for first 3 days) and we have teaching assistants assisting in the bussing are. After those buses load and are dismissed, the second group of buses are called. It takes forever and we are never leaving on time. We've gone through a lot of set ups and this seems to be the best one so far.
