Wood Floors - satin or semi gloss?
We're having our wood floors refinished this week and DH chose to have them do a satin finish on the poly. I'm starting to worry that the satin might be too flat. Just curious what most of you have on your floors and if you like it.

We just got satin and love it. I had the same concern as you. There is still a shine to it is more of a clean, smooth shine rather than looking like a gym floor. We were advised not to go with the gloss because scratches and nicks would be more noticeable.

satin....scratches are less noticeable and it's still shiny, just not high gloss.

We went with satin and I am IN LOVE with them. We went with Minwax Jacobean. the color is amazing!!

Thanks everyone! We went with the satin and they came out beautiful!!
Bella321 - we're in Rockland County so I don't know how much help this will be, but we went with Precision Wood Floors.

Bella321 - we're in Rockland County so I don't know how much help this will be, but we went with Precision Wood Floors.
Mine were just stained today (Minwax Early American) and I asked for a satin finish. The guy tried to tell me that gloss is better because they'll look newer and that both finishes show scratches equally  but I'm glad I read this thread before talking to him. I can't wait to see how they look!

We did the Early American too! You're going to LOVE the stain...it came out so beautiful. I'll try to post some pictures later today so you can see the finished product.
