Should the ceiling fans match? - Links fixed
We are getting a ceiling fan installed in a room adjoining our dining area. We already have a nice ceiling fan in the living room. You'll be able to see both fans while sitting in the dining area.
Would you get the same fan in both rooms? My husband doesn't love the living room one, and wants to get a different one for the new room. I think it will look weird to have two different fans rather close to each other on the same level, and we are not going to change the living room fan.
This is the living room fan: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61sF6ANdmRL._SL1500_.jpg
This is what we would get for the other room, if we don't get the same fan: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61tG9l3Ug2L._SL1500_.jpg

I would install the same fan. Switch out the LR one if DH does not like it.

Yes but u probably won't like it lol. Get a different light fixture - no ceiling fan.

They are two different rooms, so I would treat each room differently. There are a lot of times where two adjacent rooms have different flooring, different wall color, different "vibe". Who cares if the fans are different? If anyone does care, tell them to not look up when they are in both rooms....

I agree with you, but I would go noticeably different though--to match each room If they are close enough that you can see them a the same time, these look like you tried to match but didn't.
I also probably wouldn't put a ceiling fan in a dining room in the first place-I would get a chandelier or semi flush mount light.

Thanks everyone! Since the styles of the two rooms are pretty much the same, we're going to replace the living room fan and get matching ones (that my husband likes) for the two rooms and eat the cost of the living room fan that we'll be replacing. FYI, the dining room, which is the room in between the two ceiling fan rooms, has a chandelier... no ceiling fan above the dining room table!
