Question you ladies may be able to answer....

Just want to preface this by saying we are NOT trying to get pregnant. We tried years ago when DS was 2 (he is 8 now) and it never happened. I made my peace with that. I will be 42 on Sunday - I have accepted I am one and done.

But I know you ladies know more about the female reproductive system than anyone else - something weird happened to me that i would like some insight into.

I am like clockwork - AF every 28-30 days. Once in a blue moon I am a little early or a little late (maybe day 27 up to day 32 but that's it)

This past AF came 2 weeks early - so, I had AF for a full week, then 2 weeks went by, and then BOOM - AF again - full AF - I have very heavy flows. both AFs this month were full periods - nothing light.

The only difference is, with the 2nd AF - I had no PMS symptoms - no cramps, not a lot of emotional stuff (I am a psychopath normally) - AND - no clots like I usually have with AF.

Could it be an early miscarriage? Or, is this just part of being perimenopausal and AF just is all out of whack?

The thought of being perimenopausal really upsets me. Not that I am expecting any more kids, but the thought of being at that stage of my life really is bothering me. Not that I'd be happy knowing I had a miscarriage, but the thought that maybe I could still get pregnant is a comforting thought - even if I lost it. It means maybe i could have another chance - maybe. I am not banking on that though.

I have been really lost trying to figure out what happened to my body. Like I said, I feel you ladies know more than anyone else and if you have any thoughts, I would be open to them. even if you think I could be perimenopausal.

Question you ladies may be able to answer....

if had 5 really early m/c and based on my experience that would be an abnormal amount of bleeding if you had an early mc. Unless your original AF was an MC and the 2 weeks later was residual bleeding... STILL A LOT of bleeding for an mc that early. And theres no way to know now unless theres still hcg and you get bloodwork done.

Theres also no real way to know if its menopause related based on one incident of an early AF. Although it is probably likley that its related to menopause i think youre going to have to wait and see how your body handles the next couple of AF to know for sure. And even then you may not know whether it was MC or Menopause.

My mom went thru menopause for like 10 years.

Menstruating twice, two weeks apart, is not what would happen with a miscarriage. You wouldn't ovulate until at least 10 days after the first AF. So 14 days after AF isn't enough time for an embryo to form and attach to your lining and then be shed out.

If anything, a chemical pregnancy would cause your next AF to be a couple of days late, not early.

I'm sorry your body is being so wacky. Hope it's just a one-time thing for now.

I think it might be the word you don't like to hear. If you look on the health section we have been discussing this very issue. I refuse to say the "p" word as well lol

Re: Question you ladies may be able to answer....

im coming off a failed iVF cycle with a chemical which was OCt. Nov was my first cycle after and I was a few days late.

I dont think a miscarriage would cause AF and then two weeks later more bleeding.

Its normal as you get older that your cycles do change. Keep a record..see what happens next month. It could be peri-menopause. but menopause can also take years to finish.

my mom started having wonky af's..like twice a month in her 40's. she also had endo and severe periods, polyps, etc. at 55 she had a full hysterectomy but even by then she wasnt showing any full signs of menopause..just some hot flashes and weird cycles. She had the hysto for other reasons.
