Need some feedback

So this month I have been using OPKS daily since I'll be seeing my RE the first week in January. My last period began 10/15/15 due to provera. I wanted to use OPKS to try and see any changes so I can present at my RE apt. So I finally have some stress relief and started dieting again which I know can sometimes spontaneously cause a cycle to regulate. So I noticed lines getting darker on the test however never passing the control. So Thursday morning I noticed a bit of EWCM not much but it was there didn't think much of it since my whole body is off due to the PCOS. So Friday I noticed a lot more in the morning but dried up by the evening. We DTD Sunday and Friday. Do you think I missed the window not realizing I could have been ovulating? My OPK test line definitely got darker but never passed the control. I continued to test just to see any changes and sure enough this morning the test line is barely there.
Anyone have any insight?

Re: Need some feedback

It could be one of two things. First, you should test twice a day - once in the morning and once in the late afternoon. I always ovulate in the afternoon, so if I test in the mornings only I would never get my smiley (or in your case, reach the control line). Its easy to miss the window without testing twice.

Also, some women surge several times a month before they actually ovulate. So, it's possible that you just surged but haven't ovulated yet.

What tests are you taking? With some tests the test line will never get darker than the control line. I used wondfo tests and when I would have my surge the test line was equally as dark and as thick as the control line. a day or two before it would be dark but not as thick. It took me months of tracking to discover this.
If you have PCOS (I do too) the best thing I did was get those smiley tests. I would use the wondfo's and then when I thought I had a positive I would use the smiley as a back up.
When did you notice the test line was at its darkest? What day?

The smileys were messed up always positive. I'm currently using wondfo's I find they are more accurate. The darkest was on Friday. The wondfo's I see differences the smileys are always positive no matter what. I'll have to keep tracking to get a better idea

I used wondfos and I never felt like they got darker than the control line. After the first two months of tracking, I began to know when to expect it (going by the darkest the line would get). DH and I Chat Icon 2 days before, the day I expected it, and 2 days after. Got pregnant on the second month! So the wondfos must've been accurate.

So then to answer your question, it doesn't seem that you missed your window if the line was the darkest on Friday and you BD on Friday. Sunday was likely just for fun.

good luck!

If you have PCOS, OPKs are notoriously problematic. And if you are saying you always have a smiley, well, then that's your answer, too.

Thanks everyone! I have been trying to keep close track as to change. So far last Friday was my darkest. I have my RE apt on the 7th and have been documenting my cycle and changes so I can give the most accurate info as possible.
