Bleeding and freaking out
Trying not to panic but it's not working. I'm 9 weeks and just started bleeding. It's not that heavy but it is red and not just when I wipe. I called my dr and she said lie down and go to the er if it gets heavier, otherwise call her tmrw.
Would you just go to the er anyway for peace of mind?

Bleeding and freaking out
Yes. I had spotting at 8 weeks and went to the ER. All was fine, but I would have lost my mind sitting home.
Good luck!!!!

Re: Bleeding and freaking out
I am so sorry this is happening to you. I would go to the ER to get checked if there is red blood, especially if there's any cramping or clots. My thoughts are with you and I'm really hoping everything turns out ok.

Re: Bleeding and freaking out
I had bleeding both pregnancies, neither times with cramping. Both pregnancies results in healthy children.
If you have cramps, I'd go to the ER. If it's just bleeding, I'd wait to go to your OB when they open today. Hang in there!

Re: Bleeding and freaking out
When I was 11 weeks with my first, I had bright red bleeding. I was freaking out. My doctor saw me a few hours later. By that time, it turned to brown spotting. Everything was fine and there was no explanation. She told me to take it easy and drink tons of water because that could help calm an irritated uterus. I would want to be seen by someone for peace of mind. I hope everything is okay.

Bleeding and freaking out
Oh noooo :( I am sure you are fine!!!!
I may be the only one saying no to ER- I went once for similar reasons and found it very upsetting to be stuck there all day. Radiology takes forever to do the sono and write up the report, and I would rather have just stayed at home and let it all play out the way it was meant to. They're just gonna do a sono and tell you to relax at home with your feet up for a few days.
ETA: It could be breakthrough bleeding which is prety common. It's light bleeding when your period would have been due.

Bleeding and freaking out
My SIL had bright red bleeding around 7 weeks. She was hysterical sure that she was losing the baby. She went straight to the ER. Turns out she had a hematoma. She's 32 weeks now.
I would go to the ER just to check.

Bleeding and freaking out
I had spotting early on, went on progesterone. I then had 2 separate instances of huge gushes of bright red blood somewhere between 6 weeks & 10 weeks. I thought I was miscarrying again both times. Every time I saw blood I went in. If it is not super heavy with cramping then I wouldn't go to the ER you will be there forever. At this point they can't do much anyway if it is the start of a M/C. I hope you get in to your doctor early today and all is good with the baby!!!

Re: Bleeding and freaking out
Thanks everyone. It stopped pretty quickly so I stayed home last night. I'm seeing a little brown when I wipe today so I'll call the dr when she opens at noon. I also have a bad cold so I'm wondering if all the coughing and sneezing is irritating something. Keeping my fingers crossed and my feet up for now!

Glad to hear it's stopping. Spotting can be quite common. And cough away, it can't cause you to bleed.

This happened to me. I started bleeding tons of bright red blood at 9 weeks with DS2. Apparently I was coughing so much that I broke a blood vessel in my cervix! It was so scary. I thought for sure I lost the baby. It turns out I just had a very sensitive cervix and that was the first of many many (harmless) bleeding episodes throughout the pregnancy.
