We used diaper genie. Other 2 things not at all

Same

Same for us too.. but we have the arm and hammer version of it. LOVE it. I used the bottle warmer once and sterilized by boiling water.

Re: are these items necessary?

We only had the diaper genie for #1 and only partly for #2 until we decided to get rid of it and just throw diapers out in the regular . I wont be buying one for #3.

I didn't use a sterilizer or bottle warmer. I just boiled bottles and pacifiers according to instructions when they were first opened, and after that just always put them in the dishwasher. And I mostly breastfed, so I didn't really need a bottle warmer. I had a diaper genie, but I found that if we didn't empty it each night, it would smell anyway, so this time we're just going to wrap diapers in plastic bags and put them in our regular garbage, since we bring that outside most nights anyway.

Just the diaper genie, IME.

I didn't use a bottle warmer, DS took cold or room temp water for his formula.

Sterilized everything on my own in a big pot of water.

I registered for a diaper genie and a breast milk warmer. I figure it's the easiest way to get DH involved in feedings... which he definitely wants to be. Did not register for a sterilizer.

Re: are these items necessary?

I still use the sterilizer and my twins are almost 9 months. The bottle warmer I just stopped using and I didn't bother with a diaper genie. For me, the best thing is the scented diaper baggies.

Re: are these items necessary?

I think it really depends on the person/baby/house. I use all three because each give me a quick 'out' when I need one. My DS always preferred his milk warm (we tried cold and room temp no go) and a warmer is quicker/easier than warming in water. Sterilizer always gave me the peace of mind that if I had rushed through washing it would get the 'extra'. That said I personally won't put plastic in the microwave so I have a countertop one (JMO). The diaper genie I planned to return thinking I would never use it. But in a pinch, in the middle of the night, being on the second floor with a baby who HATED a soiled diaper...it was a big help! Never did #2 diapers in there but #1 worked well. We'd always empty it in the morning. Pregnant with #2 now and no idea if I'll use any of them!

Here's my opinion:
Out of those 3, the only one I used was the sterilizer. I would wash and sterilize the bottles, pumping parts, and some toys.

To me, the bottle warmer was just another useless appliance that would take up space on my counter. I used hot tap water in a large coffee mug to warm bottles for both my kids.

The diaper genie never appealed to me. I took the dirty diaper and threw it in the garbage can, wasn't that difficult. If it was a real stinky diaper I put it in a grocery bag or one of those pleasant smelling diaper sacks before putting in the garbage.

I love the bottle warmer and sterilizer. I use/used them with all of my babies. The warmer gets the temp right every time. I have a sterilizer that sterilizes and dries which I love rather then letting stuff air dry. I didn't use the diaper genie as much for dc2 and dc3. Just used the regular garbage.

If you plan to breast feed, I've been loving My Breast Friend pillow. I like it more than the Boppy. It keeps the baby at the perfect angle and height.

ETA: I bought a bottle warmer that is good for heating breast milk. Kinde is the brand. Works great.

I formula feed and caved and got the bottle warmer about 1 month in. But we use it to bring the bottles to room temperature because we use ready-feed formula that we make bottles and keep refrigerated. Prior to the bottle warmer we would put the bottle in a mug of hot water. Both work fine but the bottle warmer is more convenient for me. I do not sanitize my bottles, I either wash them by hand with bottle soap or put them in the dishwasher. No diaper genie either, I use the scented 'keep me clean' small green bags and put them in the normal garbage which we take out daily.

I always use the bottle warmer. I didn't get a diaper genie and the sterilizer is good but not at all necessary.

Re: are these items necessary?

Bottle warmer - no. Just head up some water in the microwave and have the bottle sit in the water for a few min.

Sanitizer - eh.. maybe. It came with all of our bottles and we did use it a lot in the very beginning. Also, if I dropped something somewhere skeevy I felt more comfortable using it again after it was sanitized. But it takes up a lot of space.

Diaper Genie - Yes. we used it up until DS was potty trained. It STINKS, but it's better then running outside all of the time.

I use the bottle warmer for every feeding and all diapers go into the diaper dekor. I couldn't live without either.

I sterilize by throwing everything into a pot of boiling water.

Same! Prefer Diaper Dekor pail. And we use the warmer with our RTF formula and find it easy for us. And for sterilizing we boil or they sell microwave bags too that we use.

Re: are these items necessary?

swear by my bottle warmer! (Dr. Browns)

Sterilizer is not necessary. I do it in boiled water in the pot (glass bottles) or the microwave sterilizer the MAM came in (plastic)

I didn't get a Diaper Genie because my aunt told me it was a waste and she only used it once. Said it didn't mask the smell and attracted flies. So I can't speak from experience but I went by the advice I was given.

I highly recommend registering for a rock n play!

I loved the bottle warmer. We got it later on (around 10 months) but I wish I'd had it sooner.

Diaper genie was used a few months before we just stopped. It was easier to just toss the dirty diapers out in the trash every night.

Re: are these items necessary?

I used the bottle warmer all the time for heating up breastmilk. If I used formula, I just used room temp water.

I never used a sterilizer and Diaper Genies skeeve me out. Dirty diapers went in a scented baggy, to the kitchen trash which goes out every night.

Of the three, I only have the diaper genie. I like it because its convenient. The other items I would say no because it's just more clutter.
