Intercom System

Does anyone have a stand-alone home intercom system? I would like it so that I can easily communicate with someone in my basement or garage from the house. It can be wireless or wired. Thanks!

Re: Intercom System

I think all of the DECT 6.0 phones are standard landline phones, but they can also be used as intercoms. I've done that a bunch of times with my phones.

We don't have a home phone line right now. Growing up my friends had them and it seems like it would be the perfect solution when I want to talk to the kids in the basement or my husband in the garage without yelling.

All of my phones in my house have an intercom button so you can press the button and then the phone you want so you can reach a specific room. We use it all of the time. You can get a basic phone line for really cheep and it is good for the home alarm too.

I really want a stand-alone intercom system. Thanks for the suggestion. We just chose to disconnect our home line and have cellular service for our home alarm.
