Baby Blanket

I'm packing my hospital bag and I want to bring a baby blanket. I have 3 right now, which do I bring? Sherpa lined, cotton, or chunky cable knit?

Re: Baby Blanket

You won't really need a baby blanket in the hospital since the hospital supplies them for you...in unlimited quantities. You'll use it to swaddle the baby with. Other than for tight swaddles, it's not safe to have a blanket on the baby.

You may want one to throw on top of the baby for the car ride home, though. Whatever is the warmest.

I wouldn't use the thicker blankets. I'll be bringing cotton or muslin blankets for swaddling and the car ride home.

Baby Blanket

I brought the Aden and anais swaddling blankets just so they looked cute but 100% unnecessary. They supply blankets there. Maybe just a blanket for the car ride home to put over baby

Yes this. You need absolutely nothing for the baby in the hospital- they supply it all.
Just a take home outfit

I would bring the baby blanket for the car , the warmest one. The baby can't be in a coat or anything.

Re: Baby Blanket

I brought Aden and Anais swaddle blankets and went through one a day. I wAs in the hospital 4 days (c-section) and it annoyed me that the hospital blankets were so small that they wouldn't fully cover dd (the babies only have on 6-month-sized undershirts, so their legs are fully exposed, and my peanut kids were falling out of the tee-shirts on top). I wanted them covered when they were wrapped up, so I got tons of use out of those bigger blankets.

Re: Baby Blanket

I used a cotton blanket in the hospital. My hospital room was 66 degrees! Without that blanket, he would have been really really cold. I know you're not supposed to use blankets but it was way too cold.

I would bring the cotton one just in case and the cable knit for the car ride home.
