Getting pregnant again?
If you needed fertility treatments the 1st time did you just go straight to the fertility doctor the next time?
It took 18 months with dd. Finally right before we were going to start the IVF treatment we got pregnant with dd with an iui, the trigger shot and two other meds. Don't remember what they were.
We are going to start TTC later in the year and I asked my ob and she's like whatever you want to do. I will be in my late 30's. There is no wait time with my insurance. My last insurance required a year of trying because I was under 35 at the time.
I'm not sure if we should just TTC for the suggested 6 months or just go straight to the experts. We had unexplained IF the last time.

Getting pregnant again?
I had my first dd in 2011 after 6 iui's and 4 ivfs. When we were ready for number two last year, I went straight to my re. I only saw my ob for an annual (needed for clearance to start ivf treatments) and a referral. I started ivf right away, the only catch was my insurance required me to use my frozen which were not the best quality first. I did two frozen cycles and then appealed for a fresh bc my coverage was running out as was my insurance. I was being switched to insurance that had no infertility coverage at all. It was approved and by the grace of God, I got pregnant with my now 6 month dd.

Re: Getting pregnant again?
I got pregnant the first time on my own, no problem. Second time we tried got pregnant right away but ended in MC. For 2 years after that I had unexplained IF. I did fresh IVF cycle and we had our daughter. Since I have 6 frozen embies, I am going to go straight to a FET.

Re: Getting pregnant again?
TTC DC2 we tried for 20 months before going back to see an RE. I would have headed back sooner, but DH had his reservations. We were hopeful that we would get pregnant on our own, but it didn't happen for us.

Re: Getting pregnant again?
We started trying when I was 34, we conceived on our 19th cycle of trying (with no help from an RE) and I was 37 when my baby was born.
For #2 we tried for a year and got pregnant on our own and then I miscarried.
My miscarriage was a year ago and I'm still not pregnant again.
I'm finally seeing an RE (we're unexplained) and just did my first IVF cycle (waiting to transfer after genetic testing).
I just keep wondering why the hell I waited so long to get help?
I wanted it to happen on my own and since it did once (well, twice), I was really reluctant to get help — convinced all we needed was just a little more time.
Suddenly, I'm turning 40!
I really wish I didn't waste so much time.

Getting pregnant again?
If we decide to have another one, we will be going right back to the RE.
We haven't used protection since DS was born (22 months ago) so I don't see a natural pregnancy occurring ever.

I'll be 38 when we start TTC. Dh wants to try natural for 6 months. I think I'm going to start trying to negotiate 4.

Getting pregnant again?
My son was relatively easy- 3 IUIs but the second was successful but miscarried at 10 weeks, then he was my third IUI. So two out of three IUIs were successful when I was trying for him. I was 33 at the time, 34 when I had him. Fast forward to now, I started trying at 38, did 4 unsuccessful IUIs and 1 unsuccessful IVF. I'm single so that's my "diagnosis". My age has not been kind to me this time! Do not wait!!! I may have missed my window to have a second baby.

Re: Getting pregnant again?
We went right back to RE with #2. We weren't preventing for the 18 months after DS was born, and we figured we'd need help. With the same protocol that worked for DS, I got pg right away with DD.

Re: Getting pregnant again?
i think if you're in your late 30's just go right to the Re and dont waste any time.
i wasted 6 mo with my ob doing clomid and IUI's and I regret just not going to the RE

Re: Getting pregnant again?
We had unexplained too the 1st time around and after my 2nd iui, we conceived my DD. We have been trying again for 15 months... 1 MC that ended at 9 weeks and I needed a D&C followed by 3 chemicals. I'm now in the 2ww after my 4th iui. We went straight to the RE when we decided to try for baby #2. I was 38 and wanted to maximize my chances. Good Luck!
