Shower doors

We are having our upstairs bath renovated in 2 weeks. An old friend is doing the work and we are getting all materials now.

We have pretty much everything but now it's time to get the shower pan and doors. I've seen the frameless doors at HD and Lowes - has anyone used them for this? Or should we spend a little more $ and go with a specific shower door company?

Advice / recommendations?

Thanks

Shower doors

We needed custom doors for our master bath so we ordered from NY Shower Doors in Freeport. It took a few weeks to get them in once we ordered.

Re: Shower doors

when we did our bathroom our contractor recommended using a shower door place cause he said they always seem to leak from HD and lowes and not professionally installed.

With that said, we used the shower doon in massapequa. They are great quality, much better than HD or lowes and the installer was awesome. We were very happy with our decision and recommended them to my sister who used them and was happy as well. we would use them again in a heartbeat!

Re: Shower doors

We used the showe door in Massapequa too

The only thing I suggest is Not getting the doors coated in that film (it's a three letter name thing - not GFI but I can't think of it). It's supposed to make the water head down the door like rainex on your windshield

Just don't think it's worth it. You can't use windex, you can only use that aerosol spray way cleaner which smells great but unless you do it all the time I feel like there's gonna be buildup on the door and idk about you but I can't cut through all that grime just using a gentile washcloth and that spray stuff.

Sorry if I'm not being coherent. Been a long few weeks lol
Bottom line don't get that stuff coating your doors

Thank you. I understand what you said and appreciate the warning. I like to use mr clean magic eraser on my shower doors - it's an easy way to get the grime off w/out scrubbing. So I will not get the coating for sure!

I'll be going by this place today to get info

Thanks everyone

We got ours from NY Shower Door in Freeport.

I also agree about the film, it's a pain in the arse to deal with. DH uses the Sprayaway glass cleaner when he cleans the bathroom, I use Mr. Clean when I do it, sometimes a little baking soda on the sponge when the spots are bad.

I do love the doors though, nice and heavy, not at all flimsy.

Shower doors

We got our shower doors through OMG Shower Doors in Copiague on Merrick Road. They were very nice and the installers were great. Their price was right in line with what my contractor estimated and what I had thought in my head what it should cost.
