Bathroom remodel - should we put glass doors or shower curtain?
Getting our bathroom remodeled- was suggested we consider putting in shower doors. I never even considered it. Yay or nay? Thx!
Edited to add: we have a bathtub, not shower stall

I definitely prefer the look of glass doors and I assume it would be better in terms of resale. But it will obviously be more expensive.

Bathroom remodel - should we put glass doors or shower curtain?
Redid a bath a few yrs ago. Had no shower doors before remodel, had them installed. Huge mistake for my family. I am 6 foot tall and when I wrapped my hair with a towel, I would bang it on the tracks. Got in the way when we wanted to bathe a child or pet. Just bought a house and my husband asked if I wanted shower doors in the bathroom. Absolutely not. I have a 1 year old and need easy access to the tub. Doors/tracks just get in the way.

I am not a fan of shower doors. The tracks are a pain to clean.

Re: Bathroom remodel - should we put glass doors or shower curtain?
I think the shower curtain is more practical. As others have said, it's easier to clean, easier to bathe kids.
Plus, I like how I can change up the look of my bathroom from time to time (e.g., seasonally) by switching out the shower curtain and other accessories.
I don't think it will make a difference for resale value. If you had a modern walk-in shower and separate jacuzzi tub, then a clean, frameless glass enclosure might be the way to go for the shower, assuming you needed doors. But for a traditional shower/tub combo, shower curtain v. glass doesn't really affect value.

Re: Bathroom remodel - should we put glass doors or shower curtain?
When we bought our home, we gutted our bathroom and when it came to putting in the new tub/shower we opted for a shower curtain. The glass doors are a pain to keep clean, it would be hard to bathe future children, and i feel like the tracks on the doors are always gross. I like that I can just throw the shower curtain in the wash and have everything fresh. I use a fabric liner, not the old plastic ones.

I am not a fan of shower doors. The tracks are a pain to clean. I agree! That was one thing I was looking for in our new house. I never want to clean another track again

Shower curtain. There are so many options to make it look upscale like a cornice and different ways to drape fabric.

Re: Bathroom remodel - should we put glass doors or shower curtain?
We put in a new bathroom about three years ago and at the time I insisted on glass shower doors. Well, I've hated them every day since then. They look beautiful, but were such a pain to keep clean and they made cleaning the tub a giant pain as well. We're expecting a baby now and I kept envisioning what it was going to be like to bathe him/her with the glass in the way. So, despite all the money that was spent, we recently took the glass out and put up a shower curtain. And I'm so happy I did!

Go with a curtain, I hated the shower doors we had before this house. They were a pain to clean.

while i agree they're a pain to keep clean, i think glass doors are soooo much nicer. Also, anytime i ever use a shower with a shower curtain, i get water EVERYWHERE
it's a matter of preference, i guess

I think it depends on your family. ANy family with young kids would probably not want glass. It would be a pain for me to bathe my little guy. I love glass doors cause they do not leak but I will wait until my kids are older.

i like the look of glass doors BUT - will you ever be bathing children in there? if so, get a curtain. it will be too difficult with a door.
