Pedicures
When I was pregnant with DD, I was overly cautious. I changed face soap, shampoo, stayed away from pedicures, dying my hair, eating fish, etc. I admit I went overboard. This time around I don't plan to be as neurotic. I would like to get a spa pedicure today. Do I need to tell them I'm pregnant? Or just let them do their thing?

Pedicures
I was the same with my first and second pregnancies. I had pedicures but i always had them refrain from massage my ankles where it's a pressure point supposedly to induce labor.

I had them the whole time with my DS. I'd do it all again. Never said no massage.

Re: Pedicures
I was the same with my first and second but now that I am on my third - I've had 2 pedicures so far. I just would not let them use the exfoliating chemicals for callus removal- I asked them just to use soap and a the scrub brush I loved every second of the massage

Pedicures
I have had pedicures the whole time. I actually had a prenatal massage the other day and had her really work those pressure points for labor. Nothing. The masseuse said that it really only works if you body is ready for labor and clearly at 40+ weeks, my body is not! I wouldn't have the nail technician massage those points for too long but I wouldn't be too worried about them either.

I always got an additional 10 minute foot massage every single time I went. My feet/ankles got so swollen and were in pain towards the end.

Re: Pedicures
First off - Congrats!!!
I got a pedicure at 39 weeks and was at station 0, 3+ cm dilated and 40-50% effaced and it didn't induce labor - I'd definitely get a pedicure!

Pedicures
I've gotten two so far, going in completely prepared to stop them if they started rubbing any of the pressure points they say to stay away from, and it hasn't been a problem either time - they barely touched them! Go for it!
