DOE - Interview questions (Bronx) UPDATE

I posted yesterday asking if anyone knew of any openings in Queens and got an email today from a principal in the Bronx. I checked out the school on a map and its actually (supposedly) only a 40 minute drive from my house (without traffic). I am willing to consider the Bronx for the right opportunity.

Anyway, we set up a phone interview for next week. What kinds of questions can I expect to be asked? I have never done a phone interview for a teaching position before.

Had the phone interview today. It lasted about 15-20 minutes. Standard questions. And at the end of our conversation he invited me to do a demo lesson next week!
3rd grade... 32 students... Balanced literacy.

I teach Elementary in the Bronx and am pretty happy with my position and school.

I've had various phone interviews and it really depends. Then can ask you questions you'll hear in an in person interview, or they might ask you scenario type questions. Also they might just want to clarify what you're looking for in a school or want to tell you more about the position to see if you're interested.

Did you send your resume to this principal or did they pull you off the new teacher finder? It might make the difference in what they ask/tell you over the phone.

Usually NYCDOE schools don't do phone interviews, I've only had them with Charter Schools.

Also, there's one school that I almost interviewed for until I realized there was extremely high teacher turnover and not great reviews administration wise. You can PM me if you have any questions.
