ideas for 8 year old other than tv/video games inside
Could you please give me suggestions for an 8 year old (boys if possible) to do in the house? When he is in the house, all he wants to do is watch tv or play video games which I won't let. Outside, he will ride his bike all day, but it is going to be a long summer if he doesn't have any activities! Lately, he doesn't want to do Legos or anything else really! Ugh!

I created an obstacle course using thick cardboard we cut out into targets and my kids play nerf guns aiming at the targets.
They do Legos, science kits, read, math work sheets, play dates, board games, and puzzles. We go to museums and the movies too. Edit, school starts for us on Tuesday, so there is not many more long summer days to just relax and swim before school.

We struggle with this too! My son is also 8 and he would be on his ipad/video games all day if i let him. It is torture to get him to read, draw, play games, do legos, anything! The only thing he does love is an over the door indoor basketball hoop. He plays with that a lot.

Thanks. I really wanted some things he can do by himself too. I take them out all the time and if he is outside he will ride his bike play basketball or play baseball all day long. But inside is such a struggle and I have a 2 year old so it's not always easy to play with both at the same time.
