Can I have a pity party
Ok. I've been a small size my whole life. Small up top.
Gained 80 pounds all in my belly from my first pregnancy six years ago. Enter diastasis recti and hernia. Stomach looks like a floppy huge deflated balloon. Skinny arms. Narrow frame. Still real small up top.
I wear flotation device included bras, to try and counteract the protruding belly but I still look really pregnant. I mean, people congratulating me, pregnant looking.
The only way I can fix this is with a tummy tuck. Or to find clothes that look more flattering. I'm not interested in a tummy tuck and I'm not having any luck with clothing
So if anyone else has a problem like this, or any suggestions on where I can buy shirts /sweaters dresses that are looser in the belly area, pls throw me a bone
Thanks , guys

I am sorry you are feeling down. What about going to a department store like Bloomingdales or Nordstrom and having a personal shopper help you find some shirts? Ann Taylor Loft usually has some lose fitting tops too I was there recently

I don't have many recommendation for shirts - although I have seen that the in style now appears to be flowy (at least at the loft), but have you tried specific exercises for the diastasis recti. I follow the professional runner, Stephanie Rothstein Bruce, and she's had a lot of success with PT for it.

Re: Can I have a pity party
No i don't follow any exercises for it because the specialist I went to said my muscles are so loose that exercise prob would do much
Maybe I should try
Thanks for the tip at loft though. I gave up on that place lol

I feel your pain. Have you tried Dress Barn? I found luck with a lot of clothes there. They are flowy yet don't make it look like its a maternity top.

I had many abdominal surgeries and my muscles and stomach have never been the same.
Dress, look for wrap arounds, they are flattering on all body types or ones that go in and fit snug just under your breasts or hi waist. This is will help hide your tummy Good luck. HUGS
