If you feel comfortable calling you former payroll sec I'd suggest you do that. If not, call Payroll directly. I'm sure they'll have you send the check back unless it's a direct deposit. If it's a direct deposit they'll guide you what to do for that.

Re: left doe from LI- paycheck question
So funny u say this... SAME EXACT THING happened to me. You are technically STILL ACTIVE in the DOE and are not listed as resigned. Your payroll secretary dropped the ball (as mine did too). I had to contact the HR person within my district who oversees my building. He assisted in processing my paperwork. Even though my payroll secretary did NOT process my paperwork properly, I did in fact give 30 days notice so I left the DOE in good standing. Make sure you contact your payroll secretary first... Then contact the DOE and find out who is your HR representative for your building and they should be able to assist you. HR connect will not to be able to take care of this themselves. Good luck!

yep just found out my payroll secretary screwed up. I gave her my letter in June both electronically and a hard copy, yet she e-mailed be back today telling me to resend it to her (AKA she lost it and doesn't even know how to go through her e-mails to find it). I also filled out the CAR day form to get paid out for half of my saved days, but I only had 4 days saved up and decided to just call out sick on the last two days of school. Glad I did that, because i probably wouldn't have gotten paid for them anyway!

LOL!!!!! Same here! My payroll secretary said "I don't work over the Summer so I have not seen your resignation letter as I am still going through my emails." What a joke.

There are so many things wrong here lol. Our secretaries do check their email like once a week/every other week in the summer. Also, did you send your resignation to only the payroll secretary or to someone in administration as well? Because it takes someone in admin about 3.4 seconds to forward a resignation by email or fax to HR. There's no reason it should've waited for the secretary to do it. Especially since if a resignation isn't processed that person's salary remains on the budget. I fax those letters over/forward those emails like the devil himself is after me lol. I need to replace people quick.
