I have not seen many new IVF journals and I really thought they were helpful to me when I first started the process 4 years ago when TTC#1 especially not knowing what happens.

We started TTC #2 in May 2016. We have not used protection since having my son in March 2014 and we even tried naturally for 6 months. I have PCOS but since I gave birth I was getting AF regularly and ovulating. It was not meant to be naturally so we started the IF journey again. My insurance requires that I re-establish IF after pregnancy so that meant I needed to have IUI's which is so much fun..NOT!!! Thankfully due to my advance maternal age I was only required to have 3 instead of 6 like last time. I ended up doing 4 since the first IUI was natural and they thought the insurance company may not accept that as a cycle.

Diagnosis:

DH - Nothing
Me - PCOS and slightly elevated thyroid

9/29/16:

My last IUI failed and I got AF. Started BCP's

10/28/16:

Stopped BCP's

10/31/16:

Started stims tonight!!! Oh the joys of stabbing myself in the belly brings back the fond memories. I have to go back in 3 days for monitoring. I am also still bleeding heavy from coming off the pill. I guess being on BCP's for that long does this.

Meds:

Gonal F - 200iu

11/3/16:

My first monitoring appointment. I had several follicles and 2 were measurable at around 10mm. I go back on 11/5 for another check and I need to bring my cetrotide just in case I need it. My meds stayed the same.

11/5/16:

I have 19 follicles so far and thankfully they are all growing at the same pace. My meds were reduced since I was stimming a little too well. Plus I need to take cetrotide.

PM: Gonal F - 150iu

11/7/16:

I have 30 follicles and my meds stayed the same.

I have 35 follicles and my meds stayed the same. Should be done soon...I hope

11/9/16:

I have 36 follicles with the largest being around 20mm. I am not feeling 100% and we are triggering tonight!!!

Only bloodwork and no u/s

11/11/16:

Retrieval Day!!! We got 29 eggs!!! I was in a ton of pain the entire weekend too

Meds:

Estrogen: 3x a day
Progesterone: 1ml PIO

11/12/16:

Out of the 29 eggs 22 were mature and 17 fertilized!!! I am so happy that so many were fertilized since the last time we only had 38% of them fertilize naturally and we were considering ICSI but opted to not do that. Now we wait on how many embryos we have on day 3 and when we plan on transferring on day 5.

11/16/16:

So we did a SET based on the quality of the embryo and also due to my high blood pressure. They also froze 2 embryos today.

11/17/16:

So they froze another 7 embryos. Now we have 9 embryos in total which is great!!!

Got the call that this cycle was a BFN

Moving on now to our FET...trying to have some hope and faith that this will work
