Dog smells

This is going to sound stupid but...
We just got a new puppy and I am so paranoid that our house will smell like dog.
What do you do to keep your house smelling fresh and clean when you have pets?

Vacuuming does help a lot. I wash the hardwood floors once a week, and wash their beds weekly as well. I also make sure my dogs are clean. Bathing them every couple of weeks and using baby wipes or a dry shampoo in between baths. The winter is hard. One of our dogs is about 65lbs and won't go in our tub and we can't take him in the car to take him somewhere to bathe him because he gets car sick. So he goes without baths in the winter and I really have to keep on top of the cleaning and using baby wipes.

We don't allow our dog on the furniture. She gets a bath weekly and I was her bed every week too. Other than that, just regular vacuuming and moping weekly.

I vacuum my downstairs where she hangs out on a daily basis. She has a ton of toys I wash monthly. She gets a bath monthly as well. She likes to be on the couch so we have a "couch blanket" for her that I put on my couch and that I wash weekly
ETA: winters are harder because of the "wet dog smell" from snow. I keep on top of brushing, I have a dog towel (almost like a shamwow type) that I dry her with when she comes in if it's wet out and use baby wipes. She's only 15 lbs so she can get a bath in the tub/ sink no problem. Also if your dog wears a sweater or coat outside just be sure to wash it. She's so tiny she needs a sweater or something for the outdoors so I wash her sweater and coat (depending on what she's wearing) weekly when there is snow on the ground

I vacuum often, wash any blankets that they sleep on often, and always have my Scentsy on.

Vacuum, mop, cleaning With vinegar helps deordorize the home. We also wash the dogs beds often.

No rugs. Rugs hold dog smell. We have only hardwood.

Open windows on nice days.

My big dog gets stinky quick and we bathe her monthly. Her and her crate stink from the bully sticks she eats but it doesn't smell in the house from her. I know I could be nose blind to it, but my sister, who despises the smell of dog, never smells them when she's here. And she'd say it.

Also she's not allowed on furniture. Our little one is. He's hardly stinky. I give him a shower w me once a month as well.

ETA: I use plug ins. Not overpowering but leaves a nice scent in the house.

I have my dogs in the kitchen a lot and I use a diffuser with essential oils...smells wonderful. I place a few drops of lavender (or any other oil) into the water chamber and it mists the room for hours. You can buy a diffuser and oils on Amazon. They may even have them at Whole Foods.

I had been buying the pet arm and hammer rug powder stuff and hated the smell. Just started using plain baking soda with a few drops of peppermint oil and it smells great!

Just be careful . . . many essential oils are poisonous to dogs.
