Hospital bags...
Talk to me about what you packed.., did you use everything? Or did you crazy overpack?
Someone at our hospital was telling us to just bring a "labor and delivery" bag in... everything you need for there. iPad, camera, makeup speaker... whatever you want for there, and the. When you have the baby and get a room, have DH go to car and get suitcase with your clothes and stuff.... that sounded like a decent idea.
What did you pack in yours? What should I def pack, and what should I skip?

Re: Hospital bags...
This is my second pregnancy and I have a bag for baby and for me. When we first go in for C/s I will only be bringing her hats, our wallets, phones, and DH created a name card for her bassinet in hospital. Very small bag. After I deliver and DH has time when we get to recovery or our room he will get our bags from the car.
This is what I have packed for my c/s on Monday:
Brushes Blow dryer Hair tie / headband Make up toothpaste / brush shampoo / conditioner body wash lotion deodorant chapstick face wipes ((all of these items above are things I use daily))
big comfy underware nursing bra socks shower flip flops robe 2 sets pjs outfit for me to come home in
snacks / hard candy phone charger /cord / extra battery headphones garbage bag for dirty clothes
Baby Bag: baby coming home outfit Fleece jumper for car ride baby blanket receiving blanket hats (I crochet and made a few) Boppy
Also, car seat & base is now installed in car and seat will stay in car until we are released.
Edited to say: DH packed his own bag with just clothes and his deodorant.

I just had a csection 2 weeks ago. I also brought a notebook and folder to keep all the paperwork organized (granted I had 2 babies) I brought my own pads (the poise ones) and I was so happy I did the hospital ones don't stick I also brought 4 pairs of pajamas since I was there 5 nights (first 24hrs I was in hospital gown since I had the catheter)
I had a fleece onesie to put on the babies and I wasn't allowed to leave with it on due to it being too puffy and car seat straps not close to their body

That's pretty much my reaction when the lady mentioned makeup for L&D. Lol but I started thinking just a tinted moisturizer or something even. Just to have.
Then I'll bring eyeliner etc for after.

Hospital bags...
I just had clothes for a day or two and toiletries. DH went home everyday so he would take home dirty clothes and bring anything I needed. I had a small carry bag.
Take home outfit didn't come to the hospital til we needed it. If you are sharing a room there is not a lot of room.

That's weird. fleece is usually fine. Was the onsie too big. Was it a puffy sleeper or just a normal fleece one. I brought the baby home in a fleece sleeper and it was fine.

I didn't feel it was too big but the NICU nurse has us remove it saying it was too puffy which I didn't think it was

Re: Hospital bags...
I had a small bag for me with a pair of pajamas, under garments, my outfit I was going home in. I had a my makeup bag with toiletries I use daily like toothbrush, toothpaste, hair ties, chapstick etc. I brought tinted moisturizer, mascara and lipstick for makeup.
I packed the baby's bag separately and DH brought it to the hospital the day we went home.
All in all I packed light with the essentials and it was exactly what I needed. If there was anything that I missed, the hospital would have had or DH would have went out and bought.

This was pretty much what I brought and used. Didn't have a whole bag for DH, just an extra t shirt since he wasnt going to sleep at the hospital. I also brought pacifiers since most hospitals don't supply them anymore .
