Pls. help - hardwood floor in kitchen

We got a quote on Hardwood in kitchen BUT it can't go under the dishwasher - not enough clearance - right now we have thin vinyl - did anyone have this happen to them?

We can get the wood right up to the dishwasher, but if we get a leak or have to replace it the wood would need to be cut a few feet to get the diswasher out, and then replaced and sanded and stained again

Raising the countertops is not an option ($$$)

I am so disappointed :(

We didn't do our hardwood under any of the appliances. It looks fine and we have plenty of leftover wood to add it later. We hope to redo our kitchen next year and dh will just add flooring then if possible.

We have ceramic in our kitchen. It does not go under the dishwasher. We needed to replace the DW and unscrewed to counter and were able to get just enough lift on the counter to get the DW in.

What type of countertop do you have?

Is there any leeway in the leveling feet to lower the DW a tiny bit if you did need to remove it?

How much (lack of) space are we talking about? An inch or more? An eighth of an inch?

thanks all I think we may be ok - I read the manual for dimensions without taking the dishwasher legs off - it seems they give 1" of play that is all we need, but it is so close to the countertop we'll see, it would just be a shame to have to cut any brandnew stained wood if we had a dishwasher problem.

The countertop is builders grade formica - but not replacing anytime soon ($$$)

I was asking about the counter material since some materials have a little bit of give in them, if coerced. Granite isn't going anywhere, but formica might be able to yield a tiny bit.
