Has anyone had experience with prism lenses? Did your optometrist prescribe them? Or did you have to go to an ophthalmologist for that prescription?

At her last appointment, my daughter's vision therapy doc off-handedly mentioned the possibility of using prism lenses sometime in the near future... So, being the excessive researcher that I am, I'm just trying to get ahead of the game and figure out if they will prescribe them or if I will need to find an ophthalmologist.

And if you or your child used/uses prism lenses... did you find them helpful? My brief internet research makes them seem almost miraculous (and if it's on the internet, it must be true, right??? Chat Icon ), so I was just looking to see if anyone had any personal experience to share.
