Sod?
Tell me about it! We purchased our home in 2016 and the previous owner had a lot of foliage and decorative plants taking up yard space. We want to remove those plants, level the area, and cover it with grass. I'm concerned that the grass won't come in nicely since our yard was a little patchy last summer to begin with. So I was thinking sod would be a good idea. We plan to host DD's birthday at our home at the end of April so I'd like to do it before then. Anyone have any Nassau recs for companies? Any idea for the cost? I don't think I'd like to DIY it since I have to level the area that had plants. I am willing to remove them myself and just have the company come in to level and install sod.

We use and have recommended Andy from Total Landscape Care .
He is in Bellmore but I am sure travels across the island. If you do contact him, please give my name as a referral. I'll PM you.

Re: Sod?
We redid the entire backyard of our last house. Put in pavers, pulled out plants and dirt, and sodded. It wasn't cheap but it looked great. You do have to water it religiously for the sod to take. You'll also want to wait for the ground to thaw if you want to relevel, so it will depend on how long the winter goes.

Sod?
I can ask my landscaper if you would like? He is very reasonable and does good work. How big is the yard?

I'm in Nassau- Lynbrook. We want to eventually remove the garage in the backyard and put down pavers but we are not ready for that yet.
