Contact lenses
Anyone's tween have contact lenses?? My 10 year old is asking for contacts to use when she is dancing in competitions...I'm hesitant as I don't know anyone else's child who has them, but I see her point in wanting them. I wear them myself, but didn't start until a bit older. Anyone have any advice?

Re: Contact lenses
My 12 year old just got them in the fall for dance, theater, and volleyball. I was also hesitant because I didn't get them until age 16, but she did great. It took her about a week to really catch on and since then there have been no problems (she has the monthly ones). I think it's nice to have the option, although 9 times out of 10 she still wears her glasses.

Thank you! I needed to hear from someone who had a positive experience. She hates that her false lashes hit her glasses and that she has to strap her glasses on so that they don't fall off when turning.

Contact lenses
My 13 year old DD just got them after asking for several years. I should have gotten them sooner. It only took a few tries before she got the hang of it and she wears them for special occasions and weekends, but still uses her glasses for school. I think as long as she is responsible and has good hygiene then 10 is not too young at all

Re: Contact lenses
So as an update, we went today and they fitted her and she is on her way to being a pro! The eye doctor actually suggested putting her in a special lens that studies are showing to be helping to keep eyes from getting worse during the teen years (which is when they often happen), so after she gets used to the daily wear lenses, he will fit her for those! Thanks!!

Re: Contact lenses
Glad it worked out. My sister recently got them in 5th grade and has had no issues.
