intermittent fasting
Anyone try or look into this?
I happened to catch a news segment about this and it's close to how I've been eating recently so I think I may tweak my eating to really do it. I checked out a few articles and it seems to have some real health benefits. It's basically condensing your eating to 8 hours a day (or less).

Re: intermittent fasting
DH does this in conjunction with his keto diet. He also only eats about 2 meals a day. He is never hungry. Like ever.
He can go from dinner the night before until 3 pm the next day without being hungry. But that is also due to the high fat content in the keto diet- it keeps you super full.
I also know a girl at work who does it. She doesn't eat anything until 3 pm.
They seem to like it and find it helpful.
I don't try to do it but if I think about it, I am not hungry for breakfast before 11 am most days. Not sure why. Just the way I feel. So I eat around 11 am and dinner by 7- that's only 8 hours a day that I'm eating. So maybe I'm doing it without realizing!

Yeah I hear fasting and it sounds extreme but it doesn't seem to be. I don't usually eat until 9:30 am and we're finished with dinner by 6 bc apparently we're an elderly household lol. Really I'd have to switch to black coffee in the morning and push back breakfast a bit so not bad. I lost 5 pounds recently by cutting back on animal products (very un keto) and not eating anything after dinner. I'd love to lose another 5 but honestly would be happy just maintaining where I am.

Exactly. I never really thought of it but just the natural way I eat is kind of intermitent fasting. I wake up not even a little hungry so I usually don't eat breakfast until I am hungry which is late. So it's not as extreme as it sounds actually. And DH has lost about 80 lbs now with the keto and the fasting so there must be something to it! It is crazy how much weight he has lost!

Re: intermittent fasting
Yes, it is good. I have been doing it for a week and I lost a pound. To me it is alot harder than it initially sounds at first. You have to pick the right time, which I had to adjust according to my schedule.
My husband has had great success with it. Plus the Rock (Dwayne Johnson) does it and everything he does is awesome and gospel in my eyes.

Yeah it kind of naturally fits my schedule right now. Eventually when I go back to teaching and my day is half over by 10am I don't know if I could do it.
The hardest thing for me is the idea of black coffee in the morning. I want to cut back on sugar so that would definitely help but I would miss my sugar for sure.

Cinnamon is really good in coffee- and excellent for you too I also am a big fan of stevia- i know it's techincally an artificial sweetner but it's from a plant so... Monkfruit is even better. Both have zero impact on blood sugar
