Brushing Teeth Solo
I'm probably in the minority but I still brush 8 year old DS's teeth. Actually, he brushes them and then I "go over" them, mostly because he does not brush very well and I don't want cavities. He says he's too old for this. Am I the last one brushing her 2nd grader's teeth?

Im right there with ya
Sometimes I swear my little guy (will be 8 next month) doesn't even use toothpaste but he promises me he's afraid to brush his "smile teeth" (front ones) too hard because some are missing some are growing in etc
He brushes I check He rebrushes or sometimes I just do it

Same here. I want DS to learn how to do them properly but I'm afraid of him getting cavities b/c his teeth are crowded.
Now if I can just be better about remembering to get him to floss too!

Brushing Teeth Solo
My ds is 6 and I let him do it. We go to the dentist 2x a year so if they tell me he’s not doing a good job then I’ll worry about it.

Re: Brushing Teeth Solo
DD has been doing it on her own for a while now, but I am not sure how good a job she is doing because she's had a few cavities.

Brushing Teeth Solo
My DD is almost 7 and has been doing it herself for about a year now. I do it for her occasionally but it’s not a regular thing. I remind her to floss too.

Re: Brushing Teeth Solo
I still brush my 8 year old's teeth. I don't want him to have cavities. He doesn't like it but too bad. I have started cutting back though and don't do it every night.

Brushing Teeth Solo
DS is 7.5... and i still go over his teeth after he brushes them a lot of the time. not every single time, but at least a few times a week i'll make sure i go over them. my younger DS is 4... and i definitely do. he had major dental work under anesthesia in December, so i'm too invested in them! HAHAHA (although he's adopted from Korea, so i wasn't responsible for this teeth for the first 3 years LOL)

Re: Brushing Teeth Solo
My dentist wants us to still do this. My oldest is in 2nd grade.
DS loves it. I floss them and give them mouthwash too. My 6 year old has a itsy bitsy cavity starting... so I started floss everyday (it was between molars) and mouthwash. I thought it was annoying at first, but it’s “us” time and they all love it.

DS will be 7 in a couple of weeks. He does it by himself, but I will floss for him 3 times a week. So far, he has never had a cavity.

Brushing Teeth Solo
I mostly do it for my 5.5 year old DS. Sometimes he does it on his own but mostly it's me brushing his teeth. My 7 YO twins mostly brush on their own. They are pretty good about it. My Son i sometimes have to go over it but my daughter is very thorough. so far (knock on wood) they all have great teeth.

Brushing Teeth Solo
Mine is 11 and has been brushing solo since like kindergarten. She has never had a cavity, and she does a pretty good job. My son on the other hand, I will be brushing his teeth until I die. He is 19 and still doesn't get it. Granted, he does have special needs, but I seriously am giddy with joy that I don't have two children that need help with this!

Brushing Teeth Solo
He's been brushing by himself since he's 5 I think. The dentist always says he does a good job, so I'm not too worried. He hasn't had any cavities. My daughter is almost 2 and I do the same for her that I used to do for him. I brush them first and then I let her brush after me and she mimics my moves.
