Disney in 2 months-What do i need to know
I got value resort with dining plan and my daughters are 12 and 15 so we dont need character dining reservations. Doing one park each day for 4 days. What do i need to do or know or prepare for our early September trip (rosh hashanah weekend) ??

i would make some sit down meals reservations.... even non character meals to sit down need reservations. so i would make at least a couple meal reservations before you go. and pretty soon (60 days before checking in) you can make some fast passes. again, not totally necessary. but they're free, so you might as well make the 3 a day that you're allowed to, and save yourself some time in line...

Definitely make fast pass reservations...its totally necessary as that is a busy weekend! Look at crowd calendars on Kenny The Pirate and pick which parks which day based on his predictions of levels.

I have the dining plan promo so I believe that covers 2 meals and we need breakfast. Do you think i have to consider dining at a nicer restaurant that needs reservations? Since kids are older and its an expense as it is for me i figured we wouldn’t go there for anything but the parks. I am at a value hotel and dont even expect to sit by pool. Will tell my kids in advance that we are not there to eat lol

I’d book a few that you can cancel the day before. It’s easy to get overpriced fast food there... but you may need a sit down break.

its not just the nicer restaurants that need reservations. pretty much any of the sit down ones do. the dining plan covers one sit-down and one quick service meal every day (if thats the one you got...) so you might as well do one sit down every day, to get your value out of that. it makes a nice break from running around the parks (we are the same way when we go every year... we do pretty much all parks and are hardly at the hotel. but we definitely do one sit down meal a day for a little break in the air conditioning LOL plus, like i said you'll maximize the dining plan plus, you can cancel them up to the day before, so it really can't hurt to get a few just to have them... you don't have to pay anything when you reserve them, and you can cancel up to the day before.

I went last year during rosh hashanah--it was hot and busy! I recommend saving snack credits for slushy beverages and frozen treats to sustain yourself on those long, hot days in the park. I didn't--but I wish I had--used the table service meals for day time rather than night to have a long refortifying air conditioned break in the middle of the day.
