"Pop Warner" week at Disney
Has anyone been to Disney during "Pop Warner" week? Would like to hear experiences. Was planning to go that week but not sure if it would be insane...

We went that week last year. It was a lot more crowded than I expected. All the bloggers claim it doesn't make the parks more busy, but the value resorts get booked. I don't know if it was POP Warner, or maybe an effect of the Christmas parties, but what I expected to be a slow week really wasn't. The very end of our trip, we finally had a slow day. I'll have to go back and look up if Pop Warner was over then.. I noticed that days of the Christmas party, some of the other parks were extra crowded (because MK closes early that day) and the Christmas party itself was pretty crowded (long waits for special characters like scrooge and seven dwarfs) and sold out even though it was supposed to be a lower crowd day for it (Tuesday in early December).

If you are staying at a value don't do it! Loud groups cheering until late at night. Food courts overrun with unsupervised kids. Stay far away! They even spill over into the moderates.

Would you say that Art of Animation would be "safe"?

I personally wouldn't risk it, it still has value rooms and many of these groups flock to the more inexpensive hotels

I personally wouldn't worry about the hotel. The night we check in, after a day of ttraveling, my kids are so loud and difficult to get to sleep. We're probably bothering everyone around us. Then, after theme park days the kids are tired enough to sleep through anything. Also, we've been at an off-site hotel the same time as a cheer competition. We wouldn't have known they were there except we saw them at breakfast. But, I've read the same thing about the hotels. So, if you think you'll be bothered by the groups, try to avoid the values.

If you do an Art of Animation be forewarned that Pop Century sends the overflow to the AoA food court in the mornings. Don't ask how I know.
